14 Days of Love Giveaway | Eat Boutique

14 Days of Love Giveaway from Eat Boutique from Joy Uyeno on Vimeo.

Happy Valentine’s Week, friends! If you haven’t heard by now, I’ve teamed up with thirteen other incredible bloggers and each of us are hosting a giveaway each day up to Valentine’s Day. We’re calling the series 14 Days of Love — and the giveaways are pretty fabulous. You can follow along each day by liking the 14 Days of Love Facebook page.

Today it’s my turn, and I’m working with Eat Boutique to give away a custom foodie care package worth $185! Eat Boutique originally started as a respected food blog, but once owner Maggie Battista began putting together care packages featuring gourmet food from small batch vendors, they were so in-demand that she opened a shop. Today, the shop is thriving and Maggie is well-known for her spectacular local events. She’s even signed on with a publisher to pen a cookbook! All this couldn’t have happened to a nicer person, either. Maggie is a total bright light.

And for Frock Files, she’s put together a very special care package filled with all of her favorite things! While you can buy all kinds of care packages at Eat Boutique, and every item in this package is available a la cart in the shop, this specific package is the Maggie Special, created just for you. Everything I’ve tasted from the boutique has been mouthwatering and delightful. (My favorite are the Fixx Chocolates with praline crisp with passion fruit pate de fruits, which are pretty much two bites of heaven.) You’re in for a treat. Scroll down and leave a comment to enter the giveaway!

Since the video moves so quickly, here are all the items in this care package:

Evy Tea Green Tea Fig Pomegranate // Empire Mayonnaise Co. White Truffle // Sofra Rose Petal Jam // Simple and Crisp Pear Fruit Crisps // Fixx Chocolates: Andy’s Bar // Didi Davis Rose Sugar // Treat Bake Shop Spiced Pecans // EHChocolatier French Hot Chocolate // Morris Kitchen Syrups Grenadine // Boncora Biscotti

Here are all of the giveaways we’re hosting this month. I wish I could enter them all! So do it for me, will ya?

Weekend Links + Options

Weekend Links + Options // Frock Files

What a whirlwind of a week! Isn’t that always the way it is before a big trip, though? Since I only see my friends and family back home once each year, I make a special effort to get a little more groomed before going home. My resolution to schedule self care is in effect – at my haircut on Wednesday, I took Sarah’s advice and scheduled my next haircut exactly eight weeks down the road.

Now we just have some last minute errands to run, a family birthday party to throw, and a bit of packing to do — and we’re off! To ring in a festive weekend, I’ve rounded up five fascinating links just for you.

Weekend Links

The moment you realize your mom went through exactly the same things you’re going through right now.

Adorable kids learning about charity in such a fun way! (Think: lemonade stand for the wintertime.)

European flash mobs are classier.

More options = more happiness?

Bourbon! Chocolate! Pecans!

P.S. See you back here on Monday for one last post before we jet! What are you up to this weekend?

Weekend Links + Magic

This week has totally flown by, in part because I’m getting ready to head out of town next week and preparing for travel always makes the days leading up jam packed. I’ll be sharing more details about my trip next week, but for now I think we should all celebrate the weekend! We’re going to be cooking up a storm and we’re taking Kona to puppy playgroup for the second week in a row. Last week, she played hard for the whole hour with a lab puppy five times her size. Afterward, she was so exhausted that she was on her best behavior. We call that a win-win (-win).

I’m so excited about the five things I found to share with you this week!

This magical little film inspires me to live simply and eat locally. (Or just hit play up there.)

The backup singer for FUN releases her own album, featuring Prince, Erykah Badu, and…sci fi?

New mantra: “There is no cavalry. No one is coming. It’s up to me.

A glam and totally inexpensive centerpiece idea. Got milk?

The perfect dinner for a chilly fall night. Because eventually we’ll get those.

What are you up to this weekend?

The Tiniest House

When I heard about Chris and Melissa Tack’s 160-square-foot house, I couldn’t wait to see the video tour of their home. The couple built the house themselves, choosing to put it on wheels because they’re young and they want to be as mobile as possible. The tiny home is so thoughtfully planned out, with solar power and even a special little bathroom for their cat!

I’m all about simple living and small spaces, but I’m not sure that I could live (and work) in just 160 square feet of space. Could you?

Dress Up, Dress Down Summer Dresses

I can’t tell you how happy I am that the weather has finally warmed up and I don’t have to look at my jeans again for a good, long while. My closet is pretty well stocked with frocks for the summertime, but I know that I could quickly get tired of them if I keep wearing them the same way.

That’s why I love having a few styling options in mind to fancy up or make casual my dress-filled wardrobe this summer. So when Marigold invited me to participate in the Summer of No Pants series, it was a perfect opportunity to sit down and really think about what I have on hand to keep my current favorite dress fresh!

See more Summer of No Pants posts over at Marigold’s blog, Hideous! Dreadful! Stinky!
