Tempur-Pedic Says the #ChoiceisYours

If I don’t get a solid eight hours of sleep, I turn into a grumpy zombie. This used to happen a lot when we had what I like to call “the brick mattress,” which I was convinced was just a box spring with an inch of padding on top. It was the kind of mattress that had me making excuses to sleep on the couch.

Initially, someone (ahem) wasn’t convinced we needed to get a Tempur-Pedic. So we went to try out the different memory foam mattresses – and then we laid on a Tempur-Pedic. Then we laid on all the Tempur-Pedic mattresses. Multiple Times. The salespeople began to hover, nervous that we would never leave the store.

Since the quality of my sleep has vastly improved, I don’t drink nearly as much coffee as I used to. My body doesn’t ache in weird places anymore. I can’t tell when James, an active sleeper, is moving around next to me. So in essence, it’s saved us on the costs of coffee, chiropractor appointments, and probable couples’ counseling. That’s a win-win-win.

Tempur-Pedic is releasing their new TEMPUR-Choice™ mattress, which features multiple adjustable comfort zones. I had the chance to lay on one this past weekend and I began plotting where else we could put another bed because I need one.

While I’m working on finding us a bigger house for our future Tempur-Pedic, you can enter the Tempur-Pedic Pin to Win contest for a chance to win one of your own.

Interior Inspiration: Black + White

It all started with that top photo of the effortlessly elegant French kitchen. Then, over time, I mindlessly pinned more and more inspiration, until one day I realized that I’d pinned a good handful of black and white images without even realizing it. I’ve always loved color — I even painted my entryway turquoise once — but there’s something clean and refreshing about the minimalism and stark contrast of black and white.

For awhile now, I’ve been thinking about where in my home the black and white would work. I’ve finally found the perfect spot and I’ll be revealing its makeover this week! Until then, enjoy all of this inspiration and let me know what color palettes are inspiring you.

Simple Recipe: Cinnamon Pumpkin Donuts

Simple Recipe: Pumpkin Donuts

This past weekend, James and I woke up prepared for a luxurious day of nothingness. And then we remembered: we had agreed to go to a party that night. A potluck. This actually got me a little excited, because I’m always looking for an excuse to try one of the many recipes I’ve pinned. Despite our resolution to only make things for parties that are tried and true, I just couldn’t resist these donuts. And guess what? They were a hit. I know this because an eight-year-old boy told me so, then thrust two thumbs up in my direction. Find the really simple (and fun!) recipe here.
