Let’s take a second here to pay homage to the purse. Obviously, this blog is dedicated to dresses - and I realize that there are numerous blogs out there dedicated to (very expensive) handbags. However, since this is a series about the staples that every woman should have in her wardrobe, I feel like avoiding purses would mean failing in some regard. So, to avoid looking like I’m trying to steal the purse blog audience, I’ll write here about two other necessary accessories - the scarf and sunglasses.
Despite the cliché that a girl can never have too many bags nor shoes, a woman really only needs two quality handbags to get by: one to go with brown and other neutrals, and one to go with black and other dark colors. Invest in a high quality leather handbag, and it will last you for years. Of course, you want to look for things like the way that the seams are joined together, and the quality of the stitching. Also, pay careful attention to the hardware on the bag. The lining of the bag should fit tightly against the leather, and the hardware shouldn’t be dangling or threatening to fall off. And, like all good things, you must remember not to choose a bag simply for the way it looks, but also for the way it feels when you wear it. Ask the salespeople if it would be okay to try it on with all of your things in it - wallet, cell phone, sunglasses, keys, etc. That way you’ll get a good idea of how it fits on your shoulder. Avoid anything that falls off too easily. The Last House on the Left movies
