September is as indecisive as I am when I haven’t had enough to eat (and believe me, that’s pretty darned indecisive)! Today it was summer again, at 85 degrees and humid, which made me glad that I haven’t put all of my summer dresses back into storage yet.
In the summery heat, I found this dress by Ella Moss at Shop LA Style…which is actually a perfect transitional piece, as it’s in that plum purple that is oh-so-in this fall. Comfy but elegant and wearable anywhere, this dress will become a staple in anyone’s closet.

No matter how I’m feeling, putting on my favorite dress always manages to make me feel instantly better about myself, and feeling better about myself seems to make everything around me a little bit happier. There’s something about slipping into a dress that expresses exactly how you feel (or want to feel) that’s difficult to find in any other type of clothing.
My absolute favorite frock this season is by the oh-so-California line Ella Moss. Designer Pamella Protzel creates effortless, comfortable, chic pieces that you can throw on just as easily as a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. In fact, on my last cross-country flight I threw this shift on with a pair of brown leather sandals and found myself to be much more comfortable than I ever was when traveling in jeans. Because it’s made of a pima, modal and spandex, the fabric doesn’t wrinkle, so I arrived looking a million times more fresh than usual.
The delicate lacework on the neckline and hem make it easy to dress this piece up for fancier occasions, like work meetings or dinner parties, with a pair of dangly earrings and a bangle bracelet. The cool charcoal color will nicely transition into. In fact, I’ve spied with my little eye these fabulous (and well-priced) boots from Urban Outfitters. With tights and beret, this dress will take me all the way through the turning of the leaves.
