Aaaaagh! It’s snowing again! I blame this all on the groundhog. Next year, I’m going to go to the groundhog ceremony and as soon as the little guy comes out of his hole I’m going to hold a boom box over my head John Cusack-style and blare some Abba (groundhogs, if you don’t know, are notorious Abba fans). This will keep him from seeing his shadow, thus allowing an earlier spring, thus giving us ladies a few more weeks to wear dresses like this one.

I love all the happy butterflies! Butterflies are good luck. I seem to know all kinds of things about animals today. Maybe I should have become a zoologist instead…
Don’t you think these earrings would go perfectly? I love the way that the beads pick up on the color of the butterflies.

Unlike lots of people I know, I love Valentine’s Day, mostly because I like to spoil my girlfriends with all matter of girly things. And I like to wear pink and red. This Jill Stuart dress makes me think of the upcoming holiday, from the gorgeous crimson of the roses to the slinky nature of the satin.

A dress this feminine can’t be paired with just any coat…and if I could choose from all the coats in the world to wear this with, I would definitely choose this flirty little flairy one from none other than Ms. Betsey Johnson herself. It’s a little dressy, like a tuxedo jacket, except feminine with the flared skirt, cinched waist, and narrow shoulders.

Party dresses everywhere! I’m feeling celebratory and festive, in a way that makes me want to wear party dresses to my last week and a half of classes (for some reason, the thought of this makes the idea of sitting in class more tolerable…). I’m also thinking about what to wear for New Year’s Eve, and whilst thinking about this I stumbled on this little polka dot Betsey Johnson number. I love that it bells out, which is perfect for spinning — and for eating lots and lots of mini quiche. Does reasoning get any better than that?

With all that black, I think this needs a little pop of color. I like the juicy orangey red of these flats, which remind me of sunrise papaya.

And these lemon quartz triple teardrop earrings from Banana Republic would make the spinning that much more dizzying (and awesome!).

So if you’re totally sick of the little black dress, why not go for a sweet green one? I love the shade of bottle green in the Bronwen dress by Susana Monaco. The demi-sweetheart strapless bodice with the fullness of the skirt is very flattering, but the color keeps it from being too saccharine.

Since I’m going for a festive feel, I’ve picked this totally frivolous cape from Betsey Johnson to go with it. Of course, this is really only going to keep you warm if you live somewhere minimally cold…

And I love this big, ladylike bag (also Betsey’s), which I’m pretty sure I could fit almost all my stuff in. You know, necessities, like the last Harry Potter book, or a change of shoes.

My all time favorite, Betsey Johnson, has captured my heart all over again with this flirtatious and totally girly Polka Dot Halter Dress. What I love about Betsey’s dresses is that they’re totally sweet, but they are always a little bit rock-and-roll sexy, too. Besides that, they always fit so nicely that it’s impossible not to feel fantastic in them. No sucking in, filling out, or alterations required…just pure gorgeousness.

Of course, I know it’s probably getting a little bit too cold to wear something like this alone, so I’ve found this chunky
Cropped Shrug Cardigan by Chaiken on Bluefly.

I like that the color is in the pink family without distracting from the juicy pinks of the polka dots on the dress. Urban Outfitters’
Fold Over Wedge boot nicely compliments the cardigan.

Oh, and I’m all about
Hue’s cable sweater tights, which sell for $16 and hold up to a whole bunch of wear, unlike other, more expensive brands I’ve tried. Worn with a coat and hat, this ensemble will be warm and toasty. At least, that’s what I keep telling myself, because I’m too in love with this dress to let it hang in my closet until next summer.
