It’s been awhile since our last visit to the wonderful land of Etsy, so I’m posting here about a shop called WickedPen, which has the prettiest hand-dyed slips I’ve ever seen. Did anyone else watch the Academy Awards? Well, the commercial breaks were chock full of these “American Vintage” adverts where they showed all these people in summertime bliss, which made me think of how badly I want to wear barely-there clothes and feel the sun on my skin. These slips call to mind the same delicious thoughts.

I think this would be so sweet with a simple V-neck cardie…perhaps one with a simple, thin leather belt (sans flower)? And, of course, in cashmere. Is there really any other option?

And I have dreams of wearing open toed shoes again. I love my boots, but my feet are turning so pasty that I think they could use some sunshine! These sandals by Mystique are romantic and perfectly fitting for such a dreamy dress.

Time to fall in love with yet another Etsy designer! Kimmi doesn’t have any actual information about herself up on her site, but it appears as though she has had a few pieces in a fashion show recently by photos of two other items on her Etsy page. This “sack dress” is so chic with the thick straps and gathering along the neckline. I’m totally not a rocker like this chica, but I think that everyone could feel a little bit more hard core with this dress on.

Ooh, and you could wear it with these to boot! (Oh, I’m so punny…)

It’s Etsy time again! What I adore most about finding things on Etsy is how completely different and original the handmade pieces are from everything else that’s out there. Today, I’d like to introduce you to RubyPearl and her bright red dress. Not only do I love the way that this dress is cut, with the fantastic obi-esque strip of pink just under the bust, but I also think the lace detail layering on the hem is just lovely. It would be a great pick-me-up frock for those days when it’s icky and grey outside and you need to wear something bright to feel a little bit peppier.

The designer also does the most adorable baby dress…I can’t help but post it here, if only because this little girl is too cute not to smile at!

So I clicked on over to Etsy a little earlier this evening and found Wildwear’s shop, with this kimono-inspired faux wrap dress, called the Fawnhawk Folly.

Okay, so this happy sunbather obviously isn’t wearing this in any state where it’s cold, but you know my theory on that: layers are the answer to wearing frocks in the fall! Tights! Jackets! Like this one, by J.Crew (isn’t this the cutest model ever?):

And what would a fall frock be without a pair of boots? A lady must have some selection in her wardrobe, after all. These would fall under the “comfy black-ish pair” category. I love the ribbon detail on it, which makes it just a little bit more girly.

Every once in awhile I will post something that I honestly can’t see wearing right at this very moment, but is absolutely too delicious not to show you ladies. I’ve been shopping on Etsy, and I ran across this delicate, hand-dyed slip dress. The sweet lace detailing on the hem and neckline and the gorgeous, sheer straps make me think of dancing barefoot in the summertime.

But it’s not summertime…so maybe tuck it away for your weekend getaway to some lovely, hot place in the dead of winter? Maybe Hawaii?
