Caravan Shoppe is so many things that I love. It’s the brainchild of Fifth & Hazel‘s Melanie Burk, and Ollibird‘s Mike and Alma Loveland — all of whom are graphic designers I admire and have great respect for. On top of that awesomeness, my dear friend, the great writer Meg Conley of Meg in Progress, acts as Caravan’s chief copywriter. It’s kind of like when Target announced they were teaming with Neiman Marcus for the holidays, only better (and not just for a limited time).
Since I’m in the decorating stage of putting my office together, I’m trying to collect a bunch of artwork that I love but within the confines of a pretty small budget. Buying furniture was expensive, yo! So I’m pretty gleeful about Caravan Shoppe’s pairing of gorgeous artwork at cost-conscious prices, with pieces topping out at $8 a pop. No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you; that’s less than the price of a cappuccino and a croissant.
All the pieces come to you at digital files, and it’s then up to you to send the file off to your favorite printer. While this might sound like a catch, it isn’t — by cutting out the middleman, these fine folks are saving you shipping and handling costs. Plus that, you’ll have your printed file in your hands faster. I also like to think of it as an opportunity to support a local printing business.
Caravan Shoppe is generously offering you, my dear readers, a 20% discount with coupon code welovefrock. On top of that, one lucky reader will win a $30 gift card to use on any of the happy artwork in the shop. To enter, just leave a little note in the comment section with the three sentence story of your first crush. You know, because I’m nosy.
Visit the shop(pe) over at CaravanShoppe.com. You can also find them on Twitter @caravanshoppe and on Facebook.

What a treat!! I love all of their stuff… and the people behind the mastery are awesome, too.
My first crush? Joey in preschool. I was Martha Washington and he was George in our class production, and he wore an adorable blue velvet coat. What’s not to love?
Xo, MJ
Too cute! And only a confident man can wear a blue velvet coat.
Love these!
First crush… 1st grade. Mackenzie. Until he moved away!
It was first grade and his name was Ryan. He was my “boyfriend.” However I “broke up” with him because he wouldn’t kiss me on the lips and another boy named Scott would. And I told Ryan that to his face. I was terrible.
Hahahahahaha! I wish this were on video, Jacqueline.
Aw, I really like the me+you print!
My first crush was Greg in 4th grade. He had red hair and we rode bikes together. Then his family moved away
Awww, sadness.
Love Love Love..
First crush huh? Alright. Derek, we met in the first grade. We were boyfriend & girlfriend, only at school and special holidays. We even kissed once, on a dare. We were destined for greatness, then my family moved away. Way to ruin my dream boyfriend, huh?
Joey had short black hair, sparkling brown eyes, and dimples. We were in kindergarten together. He broke my heart when he started chasing other girls around the playground at recess.
Love Caravan Shoppe!
My first crush was Kyle in 3rd Grade. He had a set of the 96 count box of crayons and let me borrow the Seafoam Green. I loved color even back then and I was so smitten that he would share ALL those pretty colors with me.
Chase from my kindergarten class. I wrote him a valentine (nowhere near valentine’s day) and tried to pass it to him in class. The teacher caught me and I got a talking to about appropriate ways to show affection in kindergarten.
Hi Joy – I love these! Especially the constellations, how cute
First crush? Johnny in First Grade. But it fizzled when he threw a tantrum over wearing his LL Bean boots out for recess. I could never love a man who didn’t appreciate Beans…
Love that “Me+You”/”Us” print!
My first crush was one that my best friend and I shared. We both thought he was just the cutest thing in our class, but dared not make anything of it.
Fast-forward twenty years to today: my bestie ran into him a couple of months ago and they are dating!
When I was in preschool I had a crush on a boy named Nick. He wore striped turtlenecks and had a bowl haircut.. I went over to his house once and I remember we searched for rocks in his backyard!
Oh! Love Caravan Shoppe.
His name was Robert., and he had dimples to die for. He made me a love bracelet out of blue construction paper. He gave me my first pre-school kiss under the jungle gym.
Hi Joy,
My first crush gave me a “diamond” ring on the playground. Turns out he fell on it while running and was passing the hazard off to the nearest person. But I knew it was love
Okay, these prints are darling.
My first crush was a boy I didn’t even know I had a crush on. His name was Andrew. We annoyed the heck outta each other. I didn’t realize until I was much older that I actually adored all those annoying things he used to do to me. It was flirting, in a very kind and cute elementary school way:).
My first crush’s name was Derrick. Cute and funny he would make jokes and act out in front of my friends and I every day in the 3rd grade. I knew that it must be mutual things until I realized, “He likes my friend Candy.” 20 years later Derrick and Candy are happily married with a beautiful baby girl and they run their own dental practice. Who says puppy love doesn’t work?
I love the sound of all of this – beautiful prints, supporting local printers, discounts, and giveaways!
I took one of Nicole’s Classes that was taught by Melanie and Alma and it was great. I learned so much.
Ok, first crush. Elementary school. Brian? All I remember is he made me laugh, constantly, until my sides hurt. I would follow him around the play ground desperate for one more joke, one more wise crack. (Now you know the way to my heart.)
