Frock Files - Dresses, bags, and shoes!

always & forever

The reason for the very long delay in this posting is that I was traveling…but I didn’t forget about Frock Files! In fact, I was busy doing research (ie: falling in love with more dresses). My primary goal in Chicago: find Forever 21 and buy at least four dresses. I think it’s safe to say that this was one mission that was very well accomplished. My absolute favorite purchase was this super comfy dress, which is properly named Brilliant. I’m practically living in the thing! The best thing? It’s $11. Does it get any better than that?

Also, last night my very dear friend Erika showed up to dinner in the cutest ballet flats. She said she got them from Old Navy, so I immediately logged on to their website once I got home (I don’t even know where there’s one near me) and found these, which I think are great and springlike with this dress. At $12, you’d have an adorable outfit for less than $25!

lucky charms

Filed under: Jovovich Hawk, Forever 21 — Ginger @ 5:27 pm

My smart smart smart sister told me about Mila Jovovich’s line for Go International, for Target, and today I went to check it out…so good! This dress is the kind of perfectly simple spring dress that I absolutely cannot wait to wear. It shouts, “SUNSHINE!” and believe me, anything that can make it feel warmer is more than welcome.

And because we can all use all the luck we can get, I think this lucky elephant necklace is absolutely perfect!

midnight mood

Filed under: Catherine Malandrino — Ginger @ 10:49 am

One of the reasons why I love dresses so much is because I like to be comfortable…so I generally don’t like to wear anything too constricting. I favor flowy, feminine shapes, like the ones in this gorgeous frock by Catherine Malandrino. Not only is it an absolutely flattering cut, but the fabric is the most gorgeous midnight blue-purple. Bravo, Ms. Malandrino!

I also love these flats, by Hollywould, which will reflect any gold jewelry you might choose to wear to make things even more exciting.

easter bunnies & cupcakes

Here are two of my favorite things in the world: bunnies and sweets. With Easter coming up, both are everywhere, as are pretty pastels that are a reminder that the flowers will be bursting to life soon. Aaaaannnyyyy day now. In the meantime, I think we should wear the colors in order to coax them out. How about this cute number from Forever 21? Sweet and not overtly girly, but delicately cupcake-y enough to look scrumptious!

(At $27 you can’t beat it…)

springtime in paris

Filed under: Ali Ro — Ginger @ 11:42 am

It’s beginning to look a lot like…spring! Well, not really. But it’s “warm” here, which really only means that most of the snow has melted, which really doesn’t mean that it’s much of a spring yet. But heck, the temperatures have hit above 40, and I’m one to celebrate small triumphs. Bring on the spring dresses, I say! (As though I haven’t been posting on springy dresses all winter…let’s just pretend…)

I’m in love with navy blue, and particularly fond of this feminine frock by Ali Ro, called the Ruffled Georgette Dress. The shape and tasteful ruffle makes me think of Paris, as though she should be eating one of those gorgeous, delicate pastries that they display like art in the patisserie windows there.

I think this elegant dress should be paired with equally elegant shoes, like these gold ones called Pippa from Natalie Portman’s vegan shoe collection at Te Casan. Natalie is tres chic, and so are her shoes! Can I just say, ooh la la?
