Aaaaagh! It’s snowing again! I blame this all on the groundhog. Next year, I’m going to go to the groundhog ceremony and as soon as the little guy comes out of his hole I’m going to hold a boom box over my head John Cusack-style and blare some Abba (groundhogs, if you don’t know, are notorious Abba fans). This will keep him from seeing his shadow, thus allowing an earlier spring, thus giving us ladies a few more weeks to wear dresses like this one.
I love all the happy butterflies! Butterflies are good luck. I seem to know all kinds of things about animals today. Maybe I should have become a zoologist instead…

The only dresses I really ever want to wear are ones that are both cute and comfortable enough to sleep in. This nautical inspired dress
from breadandbutter is totally fashionable with the classy boatneck and nice draping, while being about as comfortable as can be, since it’s made out of jersey. I suspect that this dress would get serious in my closet. I think I will have to do a test and see whether or not that suspicion holds true by actually buying this dress. Don’t you?
I think that this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag called Lovely Luz
would be absolutely perfect for going to markets once it’s warm out. Since it can cross your chest, you won’t have the problem of trying to balance your bag on your shoulder while looking at fruits and veggies (or clothes and jewelry). It’s totally chic, and besides looking amazing with this dress, it would look great while carrying a rainbow of market-fresh tulips!

It’s been awhile since our last visit to the wonderful land of Etsy, so I’m posting here about a shop called WickedPen, which has the prettiest hand-dyed slips I’ve ever seen. Did anyone else watch the Academy Awards? Well, the commercial breaks were chock full of these “American Vintage” adverts where they showed all these people in summertime bliss, which made me think of how badly I want to wear barely-there clothes and feel the sun on my skin. These slips call to mind the same delicious thoughts.

Yesterday, I visited my favorite second-hand shop, called Second Time Around

, where I found the most gorgeous Rebecca Taylor dress in a lovely blue silk. I was bummed to find out that it wasn’t in my size — not even close! With Ms. Taylor on my mind, I began to troll around the web for the dress. While I didn’t find it, I did find some other lovely ones, including this fabulous silk T-shirt dress The Haunting in Connecticut movie in a fabric called “sugar.” I love that it’s feminine without being frilly and retro without being a throwback.

Last time my friends and I went on a trip together, we went skiing, and being the Hawaii girl I am, I had nothing to wear. So I bought a bunch of stuff that was on sale, thinking, “I’m only going to wear it for the weekend. Who cares, as long as I’m warm?” Which would have been fine, except that now there are a bunch of pictures that will circulate photo albums and online profiles forever. Bleh!
So this time, I am determined to only bring things that I love. This is much easier, since our next trip will be in warm weather, which I know how to dress for. One thing that will definitely make it into my little suitcase is the Nellie dress from Fighting Eel’s Spring 2008 collection. The bold geometric pattern is sassy and the cut is totally flattering to show off newly tanned shoulders. I can’t help but love the spring collection also, just because it was photographed at Laniakea, where I used to work out! Oh, how I miss Honolulu…
